About Waseda University

Waseda University (Ôç·RÌï´óѧ, Waseda Daigaku), often abbreviated as "S¨dai", is one of Japan's most prestigious private universities. Its main campus is located in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo. Originally founded as Tokyo Senmon Gakk¨ in 1882, the institution was renamed "Waseda University" in 1902. Guided by its founding principle of "Independence of Learning" (ѧ†–¤Î¶ÀÁ¢, gakumon no dokuritsu), the university is renowned for its liberal and open academic environment. Its School of Political Science and Economics, in particular, holds significant influence in Japanese society.

Waseda boasts a remarkable roster of alumni, including six post-war prime ministers and numerous prominent business leaders. In recent years, its graduates have also served as CEOs of several Fortune Global 500 companies. Furthermore, Waseda University is a member of Universitas 21, a leading global network of research-intensive institutions.

About the Society

The International Society of Management Engineers (ISME), founded by Professor Junzo Watada in 2004 at Waseda University, is dedicated to advancing innovation and research in management engineering. We annually organize the International Academic Conference on Management Engineering to foster global exchange among scholars and professionals.

Our society brings together engineers and researchers to develop the field of Management Engineering, which extends beyond traditional industrial engineering by integrating management theory with system optimization.

Today, the discipline is rapidly evolving through AI and digital technologies. Research now spans intelligent logistics, smart services, autonomous supply chains, AI-driven physical systems (e.g., digital twins), and collaborative robotics---transforming how knowledge and e-commerce are managed in a connected world.

We invite colleagues worldwide to join our conference and share their latest work in AI, robotics, and intelligent management, under the theme "AI-Enabled Management Engineering: From Digital Space to the Physical World."
